Welcome to Web Marketing HowTo! This is my pet project, designed to go through the process of setting up a WordPress web site and investigating web marketing with it. I’d been thinking that I needed to try my hand at making a living working on the web but I wasn’t sure exactly how to go about it. What great idea could I come up with and execute? While I pondered this and looked around at internet marketing sites, hoping for inspiration, some came to me, but not quite what I’d expected.

What do all of those sites have in common? Of course! They ARE web sites. They run on particular software and are hosted by web hosting companies. You may not have a budget to hire web designers, but it’s all very doable on your own if you work at it. I’d put together a few sites before for basic personal needs, but am by no means an expert in the field. My task became then to figure out how such a thing could be done, and I’ll be documenting my progress down that road. It’s enough to keep me busy and engage my interest while I learn more about the process of building a site, doing web marketing, coming up with a product to sell, networking, etc. The fast talkers love to say how easy it is, if not ever how to actually do it, but worthwhile things always take effort. Hopefully the process I go through and the information I can present because of it will help others, not just me!
